ÀÏ˾»úµ¼º½allup students, staff and faculty celebrate Halloween with pumpkin carving, history lecture and costume contest

GALLUP, N.M. — ÀÏ˾»úµ¼º½-Gallup hosted an action-packed week of Halloween-themed events from Oct. 27 through Oct. 31.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, the ÀÏ˾»úµ¼º½allup Multimedia Club organized a Pumpkin Carving Contest that featured creative and messy collaborations between several students.
Then that same evening, associate professor of history Matt Mingus delivered a lecture on "The History of Halloween" to a packed atrium in the Zollinger Library.
Finally, on Halloween Day, Monday, Oct. 31, the ÀÏ˾»úµ¼º½allup Art Student Collective and the Zollinger Library co-hosted a costume contest featuring more than a dozen students dressed as spooky, silly and super-heroic characters.
